How do you say tap water in French?

I’ve been going to restaurants here in Switzerland, where everyone drinks tap water since it’s so pure, but I can never understand the part where they ask.

They ask if it’s okay if I want water from such and such.. Can anyone tell me what the word(s) is/are and how they are spelled? All I pick up is l’eau, so I respond, but that section always goes right over my head.

In restaurants in France, when they offer tap water, (eau du robinet) they say une carafe d’eau, as opposed to bottled water. It might be the same in Switzerland.
