Is flavored water good for you?

Mandi asked:

I have a filtered water pitcher, and a filter on my kitchen faucet. Both give me the option to add a little flavor to the water with the press of a button. The more times i press the button, the stronger the flavor (raspberry at the moment).

Anyways, my question is, will this water still be good for me? I cant force myself to drink plain water, but I want to replace drinking soda with flavored water.(after ive read the effects that it has with the acidity/mineral levels in my body).

Is flavored water 2nd best to pure water?

Alternative to water?

jerry asked:

I’m not a big fan of drinking 8 glasses of water per day. I’ve tried for about a month to drink lots of water each day, but find I’m not enjoying the process.

No enjoyment means it can’t be a lifelong change. The reason for no enjoyment is I don’t like drinking so much water….I feel water logged.

So the question is, can you drink a couple of glasses of water and then get the rest of your water from tea, coffee, juice etc.

I know all of these have calories, water doesn’t, but if I take the calories into account in my daily intake, would these be good subsitutes for pure water?

Is drinking RO/DI (reverse osmosis/distilled) water bad for you?

Catprints asked:

I **** water but have found that I like room temp. RO/DI water that we intially got for the fishtanks. Other than not having Flouride is it bad for you to be too pure? It’s amazing how green tap water comes out looking in a white bucket compared to the ice blue water from the RO/DI unit.

Is drinking reverse osmosis water good for you?

Plumber Rock asked:

I have been in the plumbing and heating business for 35 years, and have worked on RO water systems in hospitals and dyalisys units. RO water can only be transported through plastic pipe. This is because pure H2O has an affinity to the minerals in iron, galvonized, stainless, and copper pipe. It will eventually eat through these pipes.
This leads me to believe if you drink this water it would have the same effect on your body. Depleating instead of installing minerals. Is this correct?
Hey Ronald…A little more than an old plumber is accustomed to, however, fantastic. Thank you for the great answer, and the time you put into it.
